Using iPhones On The Solavei Network
When I first made up my mind to join Solavei, I soon realized that my phone would not work on their network. I always wanted an iPhone so I purchased a used one from eBay for $113. I also wanted to keep my current phone number so I called AT&T to port my number. This took a couple of days and when my current phone stopped working on the At&T network, I knew my number had been activated on Solave's network.
So I inserted my Solavei sim card and it displayed No Network. I then realized that my iPhone was locked by AT&T, since I was still an AT&T customer I called them and they unlocked my iPhone.
My first sign-up had the same problem with a pre-owned iPhone but since she was not a customer of At&T, they would not unlock it. I gave her my old AT&T sim card and she did a synch in iTunes to unlock her iPhone, it worked perfectly when she put her Solavei sim card back into her iPhone. Be sure to backup your iPhone occasionally with iTunes to save all your information and contacts.
iPhone Settings Click Here, I never had to use these settings, once my iPhone connected to Solavei my sim card did the rest.
Since iPhones were originally made for the AT&T GSM network, anyone without an AT&T account should be able to unlock any iPhone by borrowing a AT&T sim card from a friend or by using an old one you might have lying around. If this does not work for you and you want to keep your old phone number, a friend or relative with an AT&T account can call them for you. I had to do this for my daughter and I told them she had purchased a used iPhone that was locked on their network and that she had already activated it on Solavei, they knew about Solavei and unlocked it promptly. Her phone came right on afterwards. By law a customer can get up to five unlocks from their carrier per year. You will need the IMEI no. of the phone you want to unlock. There are also unlock services available in your area or online. If you have an eBay account you can find cheaper services there. Some for as little as $4.00, do not fall for the $60 unlock sites and hacks. Always try iTunes first with a gsm sim card like AT&T uses. You can also contact Apple support though I have never done this so you would have to do some research.
